The Training and Performance Management Section of the Human Resources Department is committed in providing a range of training opportunities, anchored on the training needs and competency-based performance appraisal results, to develop the employees’ technical and universal competence for the benefit of the individual, the delivery of quality client-focused services, and the achievement of institutional objectives.


A center of distinction in training and performance management that enhances professional competence and spiritual motivation of employees through quality learning activities geared towards character-building and nation-building.

ECBPAS for 1st Semester 2015-2016
(please submit to HR Office)

The Human Resources Department would like to remind Colleges and Departments the immediate submission of all Teaching Personnel’s ECBPAS for 1st Semester 2015-2016. It is expected that before Summer 2016 classes start, ECBAS results are ready for data analysis. This will serve as basis for updating and revising of the Training Plan for 2016-2017.

Culmination of the Multiple-Skills Training Program

The 1st Quarter 2016 Multiple-Skills Training Program for the Administrative Staff which aimed to promote practical application of multiple-skillfulness in the workplace has finally concluded in March 28, 2016 (instead of March 18, 2016 as scheduled). The closing ceremony held at the Education Media Center, 3rd floor of UPHSL Main Building highlighted the giving of certificates of attendance to participants of the training on different skills presented every learning session. A special certificate of completion was awarded to Mr. Gilbert A. Fabrero who actively participated in all learning sessions from January to March 2016.

  • On-going Training Program:
    “1st Quarter 2016 Multiple-Skills Training Program for Administrative Staff”

    An ongoing training program that started on January 29, 2016 aims to promote practical application of multiple-skillfulness in the workplace. It is being conducted every Fridays by selected resource trainors on basic concepts and principles of applied electricity/electronics, basic operation of air-conditioning system and refrigeration, basic construction and carpentry techniques, and good housekeeping techniques. This will conclude in March 18, 2016 with a closing program that will highlight the giving of certificates of attendance to participants and certificates of appreciation to resource speakers.

    1st Faculty Development Program 2016

    “Excellence in Teaching: A seminar on Instructional Materials Development, OBE Learning Plans, Teaching Methods,
    and Strategies (Part I)”

    The recently concluded faculty development program held at the Performing Arts Theatre on February 15, 2016 focused on three interrelated topics that responded to the developmental needs of the faculty as identified by the deans through the Electronic Competency-Based Performance Appraisal System (ECBPAS). The Resource Speaker, Dr. Gracel Ann S. Saban, Dean of the College of Education at the Adventist University of the Philippines, delivered her presentations using various creative teaching strategies. The interest and attention of the 123 deans and faculty participants were captured and sustained throughout the learning sessions. A clamor for the Excellence in Teaching Part II seminar/workshop to be scheduled the soonest was noted.

    1st Staff Development Program 2016
    “Enhancing Customer Service and Effective Workplace Communication”

    To refresh and reinforce techniques in customer care, service, and satisfaction for both internal and external customers and to improve interpersonal and interdepartmental communication skills was the objective of the 1st staff development program conducted in the afternoon of February 15, 2016 at the Mini-Auditorium, Basic Education Department. Participants to this program were the Non-Teaching Personnel coming from the Administrative Division (19), Finance Division (14), School Division (45), and two from PHC-Manila for a total of 80.
