College of Education from the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – Binan Campus has successfully held their first virtual pinning ceremony amidst the global health crisis. The Pinning Ceremony themed “Power of the Pioneer: Perpetualite Educators Responding and Adapting to the Educational Transition in a Globally Competitive Way” was organized by the Student Teachers Organization headed by Ms. Ana Cel E. Esternon and assisted by Educare Alpha Omicron last January 24, 2022 via Google Meet and Live on the university's social media platforms
The event gathered the Dean of the College of Education Dr. Elena A. Salinas, heads of the different departments, faculty members, parents and interns. The pinning ceremony is a traditional event that recognizes the pre-service teachers and librarians’ association in the teaching education program. The college of education students’ batch 2022 has a total number of 48 pre-service teacher and librarian interns.
The organizers also invited one of the well-known and outstanding professionals in Binan, Mr. Angelo D. Uy, a Principal II in Binan City Science and Technology High School and Top 1, Principal’s Test who gave motivational experiences and knowledge to the pre-service teacher and librarian interns.
Moreover, the program became more memorable as of the selected students from different program of specializations such as Mr. Paul Keneth C. Dala of Bachelor of Elementary Education, Ms Shannel A. Padilla of Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Ms. Karen A. Protusada of Bachelor of Special Needs Education, Ms. Faith Kimberly C. Tapangco, Ms. Rica Jan D. Delos Santos, Ms. Carla D. Marfori, and Ms. Celine Grace B. Santos of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, respectively; Mr. John Carlo D. Grimaldo of Bachelor of Physical Education, and Ms. Rina S. Bombasi of Bachelor of Library and Information Science gave their inspirational messages.
The pre-service teacher and librarian interns were dedicated as they light the candle with their parents and recited the pledge as they were acknowledged as the new affiliates in the teaching profession. The pinning ceremony ended with gratitude and pride
The College of Education is now preparing to the next step of completing the teacher education program of the pre-service teacher and librarian interns.
