Even in the digital space, CASian Faculty have shown their undying dedication for research as the Department held its 1st CAS Faculty Research Title Proposal.Dr. Ernesto Clapano of the FCL Department started the presentation with his study focusing on family practices, self-discipline, and compliance with COVID-19 Health Protocol among UPHL college students. Engr. Hazel Cortez of the Math Department then presented her title proposal on concepts and effects of social media on mental health among senior high school students of the university. The life of the elderly amidst the COVID-19 lockdown was the main concern of Dr. Nonet Cuy’s research proposal.
Meanwhile ,Dr. Laura De Guzman of the Languages Department proposed a study on the effectiveness of online learning on communication among selected college students. Prof. Elias Rafael Decena then presented on the concept of autopoiesis and the severity of COVID-19 cases. To touch on the commitment of the university to its alumni, Dr. Alma Jallorina presented her proposed study on engagement in alumni activities and satisfaction on school support.Prof. Nimfa Marcelo of the Science Department presented her title on leisure activities, technostress, and mental health of educators while Prof. Mendoza discussed his planned study on stress among Philippine university students. Finally, Prof. Sherill Villaluz discussed her proposal study on social biome, character strength, and adversity quotient among recovered immune-compromised COVID-19 patients in Laguna.
College of Business and Accountancy Dean Dr. Ernesto Serrano; CAS Statistician Dr. Nonet Cuy; and CAS Dean Dr. Antonio Yango served as panel members and provided their recommendations on the improvements that may be made on the proposed studies.The online event was held on May 17, 2021 at 8:00AM until 12NN also in view of the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) annual celebration of Higher Education Institutions’ (HEIs) resilience and best practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.
