Your Mind Matters: Self-Empowerment through Cognitive Reframing

The Persons with Disability Office of the Municipality of Binan invited Prof. Sherill S. Villaluz, Psychology Program Chair, to conduct a mental health seminar in connection with the 43rd National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with the theme “Kalusugan at Kaunlaran ng Pilipinong May Kapansanan, Isulong sa Gitna ng Pandemya”. The said event was held last July 23, 2021 via Zoom and FB Live. Professor Villaluz talk about “Your Mind Matters: Self-Empowerment through Cognitive Reframing” in which she highlighted the role of challenging and reframing faulty thinking to be empowered. The challenges faced by persons with disability during the time of pandemic was also discussed. The webinar was participated by around 40 attendees via zoom and 160 viewers from FB Live, most of which were employees from the Municipality of Binan and persons with disabilities.
