The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna / UPH- Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical University, having committed itself to excellence in quality education, once again reached another milestone, the recommendation for Continued Certification to the ISO 9001: 2015 by Bureau Veritas, an internationally recognized auditing body.

Bravely, the University faced the challenges and limitations imposed by the global pandemic long before its onset. It successfully conducted its first virtual internal quality audit and management review last March 2021 which are major pre-requisites to the ISO 9001:2015 Recertification Audit.

The ISO 9001:2015 Recertification culminated with the two-day virtual audit on June 21 and 22, 2021. The exemplary leadership of Dr. Ferdinand C. Somido, its Executive School Director and Dr. Arcadio L. Tamayo, its Chancellor, fully supported by its Quality Assurance Team composed of Dr. Catherine de Jesus (QA Coordinator), Dr. Genevieve C. Realon (Lead Auditor & Assistant School Director), Engr. Melanie C. Morabe (Quality Management Representative) and its Academic Deans, Department Heads, and duly trained Internal Quality Auditors indefatigably and successfully exerted efforts towards continual improvements of various programs offered.

Said collaboration lead the team in satisfying the requirements based on the ISO 9001: 2015 standards covering the Tertiary and Graduate School Education.

Looking back, the primacy of customer satisfaction through excellence in quality education has always been highly prioritized by the University. Thus it engages itself into various quality assurance projects which ensure that desired quality education is catered among its students. Quality cycle of planning, implementation, review, and enhancement of its curricular offerings is given importance in its internal quality system audit. The university-wide standardized system of operations and processes are abreast with the fast changing demands for globally competent professionals and led the University in earning its first ISO 9001:2008 certification in 29th of December 2014.

Risk-based management approach in leadership-based process improvement was totally implemented to cater to the best interest in compliance to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015. Set of standards and best practices in monitoring and evaluation of processes are done for continuous improvement and if needed, elimination of defects in the process. Through its continued satisfactory operation of its Management System, the UPHSL/UPH-DJGTMU was granted its ISO 9001:2015 Certification in 18th October 2017.

The continuation of our ISO 9001 certification is a clear testament to our unceasing commitment to continually improve our systems and operations to better serve our clientele.
