A virtual Student- research seminar was held last December 7, 2021 at 9:00-11:30am via zoom. This was a collaborative effort of the three colleges namely, College of Education, College of Maritime Education and College of Criminology. The theme of the webinar is “Sustainability of Student Research in Time of Quarantines: Geared towards Quality Outputs.”
The program started with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Perpetual Help Hymn. This was followed by an Opening remarks given by the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Elena A. Salinas. After which, the Director for Research, Dr. Leomar Galicia delivered an inspirational message. The resource speaker was formally presented by Prof. Albert R. Rocero, research coordinator of the College of Education and College of Criminology.
Dr. Edwin R. De los Reyes, served as the resource speaker of the webinar. He is currently the Research Coordinator and Journal Editor-in Chief in the College of Education and Liberal Arts and Graduate School of Zamboanga State College of Maritime Sciences and Technology. His discussions centered on the different parts of a research paper, its qualities, characteristics and criteria including ethical standards being considered in writing a research paper or in conducting a research study.
After the speaker’s discussion, an open forum was conducted. This was moderated by John Carmona Casanova, a first year Education student. There were several students from the college of education, maritime and criminology who actively participated in this part of the program.
