SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

Advancing Health and Wellness for All: UPHSL’s Holistic Pursuit of SDG 3 Through Service, Education, and Community Partnership

The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) demonstrates a comprehensive commitment to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by integrating community service, academic engagement, and accessible facilities. The university actively supports health services (SDG 3.3.1) through outreach programs like the “Juan for All: National Blood Letting Activity” and “Project Manhood: Free Circumcision 2024” while also solidifying OJT/internship partnerships with health institutions, including Ospital ng Muntinlupa for Nutrition and Dietetics and various centers for Psychology students. In the academic sphere, UPHSL provides extensive health education via co-curricular seminars on nutrition for pregnant/lactating mothers and lifestyle diseases, alongside specialized academic events like the seminar on the nutritional management of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEMs), with faculty further contributing to international research by presenting at conferences such as the 5th NUTRICON 2023 in Malaysia. Moreover, UPHSL extends its resources by offering free access to its sports facilities (SDG 3.3.3), evidenced by a formal partnership with the JZGMNHS Swimming Team for training access and by granting the San Pablo Youth Commission free use of the entire UPHSL Gymnasium for the Diocese Youth Day and other community events.
