    Education

    Bachelor of Secondary Education

    The Bachelor of Secondary Education is a four-year program that prepares teachers for junior and senior high school, with majors in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

    Students build disciplinary mastery alongside pedagogical expertise, developing research, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills together with a commitment to community service and social responsibility.

    A full year of practice teaching in laboratory and cooperating schools completes the program, producing competent, caring, and socially responsible educators grounded in the principle "Character Building is Nation Building."

    - Integrate technology and digital resources into engaging language and literature learning

    BSEd - Filipino
    - Master the Filipino language and literature and the pedagogy for teaching them
    - Understand the relationship between language, culture, and society in the Philippine context
    - Apply varied teaching strategies suited to different learners and learning environments
    - Design creative and integrative learning experiences that make Filipino meaningful and relevant
    - Promote Filipino identity and heritage through knowledge of linguistic and cultural issues
    - Conduct research advancing Filipino as a language of instruction and of national development
    - Become reflective, innovative, and culturally responsive Filipino teachers

    BSEd - Mathematics
    - Master mathematical concepts and procedures and apply them accurately across contexts
    - Connect mathematics to real-life situations and other curricular areas
    - Develop strong pedagogical content knowledge to explain concepts to diverse learners
    - Apply effective teaching methods, strategies, and digital tools that enhance learning
    - Solve and create routine and non-routine problems of varying complexity
    - Design assessments that monitor, evaluate, and communicate learners' mathematical skills
    - Appreciate mathematics as a creative discipline that encourages discovery and innovation

    BSEd - Science
    - Master scientific concepts and principles across the major areas of science
    - Develop scientific inquiry skills by investigating questions and analyzing evidence

    - Develop strong pedagogical content knowledge to make complex concepts accessible
    - Apply science teaching strategies responsive to diverse learners and environments

    BSEd - Social Studies
    - Master history, culture, society, governance, economics, and contemporary issues
