AIROIVA Holds Strategic Planning to Strengthen Internationalization Efforts in CALABARZON
The Association of International Relations Officers (AIROIVA) successfully convened its Strategic Planning Session on October 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office (CHEDRO) IV-A in Lipa City, Batangas. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Josefa G. Carrillo, President of AIRO 4A and Director for International and External Affairs of the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna.
The session was graced by the presence of CHED Regional Director Dr. Rogelio T. Galera, Jr. and Dr. Jun Labang, who provided valuable support and guidance. Among the distinguished participants were Dr. Maria Normelyn Cachuela, Executive Vice President of De La Salle University–Dasmariñas; Dean Racquel Mandia, Vice President for Laguna of San Pablo Colleges; Dr. Teodorica Ani, Vice President of Batangas State University; Ms. Janice Ilao, Assistant Secretary, Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba; Dr. Daisy Maghirang, Secretary, University of Batangas; Dr. Alona Cabrera, Assistant Treasurer, La Consolacion College Tanauan and Biñan; Ms. Dannah Grace Sanchez, Public Information Officer, De La Salle Lipa; and Dr. Richardson Mojica, Board Member, St. Dominic College of Asia.
The agenda encompassed a wide range of important items, including the presentation and approval of the AIRO 4A By-Laws, a review of 2024 initiatives and milestones, and the setting of strategic directions for 2025–2026. Discussions also focused on capacity building and resource mobilization, regional events and conferences, as well as communication, advocacy, and visibility plans.
With the finalization of the By-Laws, AIRO 4A solidifies its organizational framework, paving the way for a stronger and more coordinated approach to internationalization among higher education institutions in CALABARZON. The active participation of member representatives highlighted the association’s commitment to advancing academic collaborations, faculty and student mobility, and global partnerships that will benefit the region’s higher education landscape
