BANKSTREET CHILD LEARNING CENTER

BANKSTREET CHILD LEARNING CENTER

The Bankstreet Child Learning Center is a flagship Community Outreach Program of the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – College of Teacher Education (CTE). Designed to uplift communities through early childhood education, the program offers eight weeks of free preparatory education to children aged 3 to 4 years old, most of whom come from low-income families.

This initiative not only nurtures young minds but also empowers future educators by providing a meaningful training ground for aspiring teachers. Launched with the dual aim of developing children’s core values, thinking abilities, and social skills while giving CTE students real teaching experience, Bankstreet stands as a testament to the University’s enduring commitment to service, education, and nation-building.

The program helps children transition smoothly into formal schooling while reinforcing the values of compassion, patience, and service among student-volunteers.

Batch 1: Planting Seeds of Hope

With 16 enthusiastic young learners, Batch 1 began its journey with a student pre-assessment conducted on September 12–13, 2024, followed by the official start of classes on September 23, 2024.

The batch concluded with a heartwarming Recognition Day on December 13, 2024, celebrating the growth and learning of both pupils and volunteer educators. The event highlighted not only academic milestones but also the personal development of the children and the teaching maturity of the student-volunteers who guided them.

Batch 2: Continuing the Mission

Building on the success of the first batch, Batch 2 welcomed 13 new learners. Pre-assessment was held on January 22 and 24, 2025, and classes commenced on January 27, 2025.

The program concluded with another memorable Recognition Day on April 5, 2025, marking yet another chapter of learning, laughter, and service. Each child’s progress reflected the dedication of the CTE volunteers, whose passion for teaching continues to shape young hearts and minds.

Through the Bankstreet Child Learning Center, the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna continues to prove that education is not confined within four walls—it is a mission rooted in compassion and service.

By nurturing young minds and training future educators, this program ignites a cycle of learning, love, and leadership that extends far beyond the classroom. With every lesson taught and every value instilled, Bankstreet builds more than just learners—it builds futures, one child and one teacher at a time.

The Bankstreet Child Learning Center remains a shining example of how education, when grounded in service and compassion, can truly transform lives—from the classroom to the community.
