Building Inclusive and Resilient Communities: UPHSL’s Contribution to Sustainable Cities and Communities Through Research and Innovation

The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) plays a vital role in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through its research initiatives, which focus on inclusivity, resilience, and sustainability. Conducted in 2024, the highlighted studies reflect the university’s dedication to tackling social, economic, and health-related challenges across diverse communities. These research projects cover a broad spectrum of themes, ranging from the development of tools for children with autism and wellness programs for mental health practitioners to the assessment of economic vitality and the creation of culturally responsive care models for professionals working abroad. Together, these studies embody a multidisciplinary approach that intertwines innovation, health, and social responsibility to enhance community well-being. Through these initiatives, UPHSL reinforces its commitment to cultivating communities that are not only economically sustainable but also socially inclusive and supportive of overall health, aligning closely with the global aims of SDG 11.
