The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) reinforced its commitment to international collaboration and academic excellence by participating in the AEF 2025 ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum held in Malaysia. With the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” the event brought together leading universities from across the ASEAN region to advance discussions on transnational higher education (TNHE) and the development of an ASEAN Higher Education Common Space. Held at Sunway Resort Hotel, Malaysia, the two-day forum served as a strategic platform for UPHSL to strengthen global academic partnerships, promote student mobility, and expand its internationalization efforts. The University was represented by Dr. Peter S. Estellore, UPHSL Marketing Director, and Mr. Oliver Junio, Dean of the UPHSL College of Computer Studies. Their active participation underscored UPHSL’s dedication to fostering global collaboration and advancing educational innovation across borders. A highlight of UPHSL’s participation was its facilitation of international collaboration on data gathering for student mobility programs. This initiative reflects the University’s proactive commitment to developing evidence-based strategies that enhance cross-border education opportunities within the ASEAN region. It also aligns with UPHSL’s efforts to advance multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — most directly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Furthermore, it supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through skill-building initiatives, as well as SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, depending on the program’s focus. As ASEAN institutions continue to work toward a more interconnected education landscape, UPHSL reaffirmed its role in promoting cross-border collaboration, inclusive learning systems, and sustainable education models. Beyond the forum, the ASEAN Universities Exhibition provided a dynamic venue for UPHSL to showcase its academic programs, research initiatives, and community-driven projects that align with regional sustainability goals. By actively engaging with partner institutions, UPHSL continues to pursue opportunities for joint research, faculty exchange programs, and innovative cross-border learning experiences — paving the way for a more globally connected academic community.
