Cultivating a Greener Future: UPHSL’s Commitment to Life on Land Through Tree Planting and Ecosystem Conservation

In June 29, 2024, the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) School of Aviation Department actively contributed to SDG 15: Life on Land by participating in the “Arbor Allies: A Thousand Trees for the Silang Santa Rosa River” tree planting activity, an initiative led by the Save Silang-Santa Rosa River (S3R2) Foundation in partnership with the City of Santa Rosa and Nuvali in celebration of Philippine Arbor Day. The event was specifically aimed at the rehabilitation and re-greening of the threatened Silang-Santa Rosa Sub-watershed, directly supporting the conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems and the preservation of biodiversity. UPHSL’s students, faculty, and administrators joined a diverse community of participants to plant native tree species, highlighting the institution’s dedication to environmental sustainability and a collaborative, multi-stakeholder approach to addressing local ecological challenges
