UPHSL Strengthens Community Ties Through SDG Board Installation in Brgy. Palma, Alaminos, Laguna

The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) reaffirmed its commitment to community development and sustainable initiatives during the SDG Board Installation held on November 26, 2025, in Brgy. Palma, Alaminos. The event, part of the UNI-COPP: University-Community Partnership Program of the Community Outreach Department (COD) of UPHSL, brought together UPHSL representatives and community leaders to celebrate collaborative efforts in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr. Josefa G. Carrillo, Director for International and External Affairs of UPHSL, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the beneficiaries, school, and barangay officials for their dedication and participation.

“Our work is meaningful only when it touches lives, and seeing the community come together reminds us why partnerships matter,”

she said, emphasizing the importance of shared responsibility in promoting sustainable development. The ceremony also highlighted the university’s role in nurturing programs that support education, health, and environmental awareness in local communities.

The activity was spearheaded by UPHSL-COD, led by Ms. Clarisse Anne Lebios. Present during the event were: Dr. Catherine De Jesus, Quality Assurance Director; Ms. Olga Salcedo, HR Officer; COD Coordinators, Faculty, representatives f rom different departments, PNB Student Volunteers, and Ms. Mary Jane E. Miciano, Principal of Palma Elementary School; and Barangay Officials of Palma. The collaboration demonstrated how academia and communities can work hand-in-hand to achieve tangible impact, fostering a culture of social responsibility while advancing key SDGs in the area.
