The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL), through its Office of International and External Affairs (IEAO), continued its commitment to expanding meaningful experiential learning opportunities by conducting site visits to several Host Training Establishments (HTEs) on December 1, 2025. Led by Dr. Josefa G. Carrillo, Director for International and External Affairs, together with Ms. Marriane C. Veracruz, IEAO Secretary, the team visited agencies in Cavite, Biñan, Santa Rosa, and Cabuyao to explore collaboration opportunities for internships and practicum programs. The activity strongly supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which guide UPHSL’s efforts in strengthening academic-industry linkages.
A key part of the visit was the meeting with the Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO), where discussions focused on possible training pathways for Criminology students, including field exposure, observation, and community-oriented activities. The CPPO expressed full support for UPHSL’s training initiatives, acknowledging the importance of experiential learning in shaping competent criminology professionals. These efforts directly contribute to SDG 4, particularly its emphasis on ensuring that learners acquire relevant skills for employment and productive citizenship.
The team also conducted visits to Loyola Senior High School, DepEd Biñan, DepEd Santa Rosa, and DepEd Cabuyao to discuss the deployment of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) student-teachers. Administrators shared their mentoring systems, classroom structures, and expectations for pre-service teachers. These engagements promote SDG 17 by building strong partnerships between the University and local education sectors, reinforcing collaborative approaches to quality teacher training.
During the visits, Ms. Marriane C. Veracruz and the IEAO team formally submitted Letters of Intent and initiated the processing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) to institutionalize the OJT and internship placements. This step ensures long-term collaboration and strengthens UPHSL’s network of credible Host Training Establishments.
Overall, the HTE visits served as a productive platform for reinforcing UPHSL’s mission to provide high-quality, relevant, and supportive training environments for its students. By aligning its initiatives with SDG 4 and SDG 17, the University continues to champion quality education through strong cross-sector partnerships.
